The
Teacher Retirement System of Texas
has approved a $262.5 million equity commitment to a Mississippi
real estate investment trust.
Parkway Properties Inc. of Jackson, Miss.,
confirmed the commitment last week. The deal, which is still subject
to the completion of a partnership agreement, would deliver funds to
Parkway Properties Office Fund II LP, one of the REIT's investment
funds.
Parkway Properties is a self-administered
REIT specializing in the operation, leasing, acquisition and
ownership of office properties. Parkway owns or has an interest in
69 office properties in 11 states across the South and Southwest
United States, totaling 14.1 million
